Alanya is a Newcastle based artist originally from Melbourne with a rich background in the creative industry. A widely exhibited and successful artist with qualifications in Visual Art and a Post Graduate Degree in Animation from the Victorian College of the Arts, she is also a published illustrator, award winning stop motion film maker and film director.

In 2021 Alanya was one of a select group of emerging artists to be accepted into the Newcastle Art Space Mentorship Program and is currently in the fortunate position of being mentored by renowned painter and sculptor Joanna O’Toole.
Alanya was one of three privileged artists practicing as part of the exclusive John Morris’ Atelier Group, 2019. Working towards two exhibitions in 2020, under the mentorship of John Morris, has given Alanya’s work new clarity and authenticity.
Her solo show “Moon” in March 2021 was highly successful and resulted in the artist being invited to exhibit with Walcha Gallery in October 2021. She is very much looking forward to exhibiting with SMAC Studios in Newcastle early 2022 with more shows to come
