Monetising Digital Events: a Recovery Roadmap Webinar

Monetising Digital Events is the latest in the Recovery Roadmap Webinars series, co-presented by ArtsHub and Creative Victoria. The session will explore the challenges of staging online events, negotiating price points, and how to persuade audiences to pay for digital content they have previously accessed for free.

Tuesday August 17 @ 1.30pm - 2.45pm

Audiences in lockdown, unable to attend live events, were hungry for online experiences in 2020.

In response, arts organisations across the country – keen to maintain audience engagement even in isolation – pumped out a veritable flood of online work, including archival footage and bespoke content. Many such events were free.

Our guests for this webinar are:

Jeremy Rice: Head of Education at Melbourne Theatre Company and a member of the MTC Digital Theatre project team. Jeremy has been involved in the planning and delivery of MTC Digital Theatre since its inception, in addition to producing online events and programs for MTC Education for several years before COVID. Jeremy draws on his experience as a director and post-production supervisor in TV drama and documentary, and as the executive officer of youth arts companies in Darwin, Perth and Sydney.

Kate Cuthbert: Program & Partnerships Manager at Writers Victoria. Previously, she worked for more than a decade in trade publishing, notably initiating the Escape Publishing imprint of Harlequin Australia. A genre fiction advocate and enthusiast, Kate is currently pursuing a PhD examining rural settings in Australian popular fiction, and is co-host of the podcast What Would Danbury Do?
